Re: Families Mulner, Eliassohn, Sebba/Zebba from Latvia

Re: Transliteration Latin -> Cyrillic

The Latin -> Cyrillic transliteration option now works for Serbian Cyrillic, too. So, if you enter search terms with Serbian Latin letters (with or without diacritics), this option will automatically find matches spelled in the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet.

Saved Searches

There is a major new feature at Genealogy Indexer: saved searches. Suppose you have 100 searches of interest, maybe one for each surname on your family tree, and you want to know when new sources were added to Genealogy Indexer that match those 100 searches. Before saved searches, you would have to ...

Krakow Census 1880 online (instructions)

About two-thirds of the Krakow Census of 1880 is now viewable online for free, with (handwritten) name indices, thanks to Poland's National Archives in Krakow and National Digital Archives. I do not know whether the rest will be similarly available. I do not have time now to provide detailed instruc...

Re: find a birth certificate

There are no birth certificates on Genealogy Indexer. You can see what sources are included in the search engine by clicking the links next to "Collection" in the top left, such as "Directories" or "School." All of these and only these sources are indexed. The forums ar...

Re: Jancety Pietrzyk

If you are searching here, you will probably be more successful searching by surname only and then examining matches, since many will include only a first initial, not the full given name. However, it only takes a few seconds longer to also search with the first name or first initial, so it's easy t...
